A Bite of the Pear

More new stuff next door.

Books I’ve read/been reading lately:

  • The Sandman: The Dream Hunters (Neil Gaiman and Yoshitaka Amano) – Oh my GOD I am in love with this book. It’s a beautiful story lovingly told and gorgeously illustrated. Strongly recommended.
  • Cinderella: From Fabletown with Love (Chris Roberson and Chrissie Zullo) – A lot of fun. I really enjoy the Fables series. I’ve heard rumors of a TV show …
  • Zero History (William Gibson) – I’ll admit I miss Gibson’s more overtly sci-fi days. That said, he’s still a master of prose. Well worth reading (at least so far – still in the middle of this one).
  • The  Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake (Aimee Bender) – As soon as I heard the concept and the title I was hooked: a young girl gets the “gift” of being able to taste the feelings of whoever made the food she’s eating. I’ve barely started on it, but I’m hooked.

I saw a young mom pushing her son on a high chair in line at Boston Market. He seemed a bit old for a high chair. And then I saw a young couple not entirely watching their daughter at Fresh & Easy. She bit into a pear and they paid a little more attention. I smiled more at them than the first lady.

Anyway, that’s today’s blog. Weather is here, wish you were perfect!
